Rock Climbing
Rock climbing is a widely practiced activity which involves scaling a cliff face and other sorts of rock formations of artificial climbing walls, which are often found at specialist climbing centers. Rock climbing is known to be an extremely demanding sport, and seasoned rock climbing experts will often have great strength, endurance and agility. It is highly physical, but people engaging in rock climbing will also need to have the right frame of mind, as it is important to remain calm and collected in potentially dangerous situations where a climber could fall.
Rock climbing is a potentially dangerous activity and great care is taken by climbers to ensure their safety when rock climbing. They make extensive use of pitons and carabineers to secure their ropes and will have know a number of different knots which they can make use of in various situations whilst climbing. When people rock climbing work in pairs then the leader climber will plant an anchor when they reach the top of surface they are ascend to help the second climber ascend safely. Rock climbers will also frequently abseil down surfaces they are climbing if for some reason they wish to abandon the climb.
Rock climbing enjoyed a burst of popularity in the mid nineties when exciting scene of rock climbing were included in several major Hollywood produced films.
